In the not-too-distant future you will get to travel in an enclosed levitating pod at speeds three (3) times faster than high-speed rail and more than ten (10) times faster than traditional rail. You will travel the distance that takes hours to reach by flight in minutes, all thanks to human ingenuity that has no end.

Like numerous inventions that debuted at past world expos changed the way humans live for good, a pod-like invention for mass mobility called Hyperloop is on exhibition at the ongoing world Expo 2020 Dubai. It is a new mode of transportation designed to revolutionize the transportation industry and the way the world moves, for good.

Hyperloop is an autonomous vehicle designed to travel through a near-vacuum tube at airline speeds on ground level. It can travel at speeds up to 1080 km/h with zero direct emissions. It is designed for intercity transportation, on-demand and direct-to-destination, capable of moving thousands of people per hour per direction. It is said to be safer and offer seamless end-to-end travel.

Owing to the shared vision and partnership to build ultra-fast, sustainable systems for movement of people and goods, a leading company in global supply chain solutions, DP World exhibits a passenger cutaway of the Virgin Hyperloop and gives visitors the opportunity to view the passenger journey from point of departure until arrival at its FLOW Pavilion. Virgin Hyperloop promises that passengers will travel the distance of London to Paris in 28 minutes, Los Angeles to San Francisco in 43 minutes and Dubai to Riyadh in 60 minutes.

As reported, Virgin Hyperloop has conducted hundreds of unoccupied tests at its prototype tunnel constructed in the USA’s Nevada desert and on 8th November 2020, it conducted the first passenger test. Two of its staff traveled safely in the hyperloop. The company hopes to get its hyperloop operationalized by 2030.

Though the first and only company in the world that has conducted passenger testing, Virgin Hyperloop is not the only company in the hyperloop development business. On display at the Spain Pavilion is Zeleros Z01, a six meter long demonstrator of the hyperloop designed by Valencia-based high-tech company, Zeleros Hyperloop. Zeleros promises that passengers will travel in its hyperloop from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in less than 15 minutes.
